Whitney Mountain Lodge Is Officially Ours!!!

All the paperwork is done and everything has been finalized. Hallelujah!!!

Grace will be getting an Official Carnahan E-Mail out to everyone soon but for those of us on the internet here is a sneak peak at the info.

We have the reunion site, Whitney Mountain Lodge, locked in and guaranteed from June 30th to July 5th. Anyone wanting to come earlier or stay longer than that can do so at the same negotiated rates.

Those rates are as follows:
Sunday – Thursday $89 for rooms or $169 ...for a suite
Friday – Saturday $129 for rooms or $209 for a suite
 
You can contact the Manager Katie Monday through Thursday at the contact info below. If Katie does not answer right away just leave your name and contact number and she will call you back as soon as possible.

There are 16 rooms and suites total at the attached hotel so first come first serve folks. Let’s fill the place up and if there is a need for more room there are also beautiful lake homes for rent just walking distance from the lodge. You can go to Beaverlakerealty.net to rent one of these homes for the weekend. They range from 3 to 7 bedrooms and are very affordable.

We have a Facebook Group

I have no idea why I have never thought of this before, (I blame old age), but I have created a Facebook group for us. Those of you who have friended me on Facebook have been sent out invites to join the new closed Facebook group called Carnahan Family Reunion. You can invite other family members that you are friends with on Facebook as well. It is surprising how many I am not friends with. As the torch gets passed on at the next reunion so will the admin privileges for the Facebook group. I felt this would be a great place to upload picture albums of past reunions as well as the Book of Carnahan when it gets digitized.

So far I have given admin privileges to myself, Donella, Beth, and David. If anyone else feels they would like to have admin privileges just let one of us know.

Here is the design for the reunion shirts. In the next couple months I will be posting the link for the sign up form for sizes and payment. I will also be looking into what else I can add to the signup sheet just in case a shirt is not something you want, like a hat, backpack, or water bottle for example.

 

11 Months and Counting

Howdy Y'all!!!

It is less than a year to the 2016 Reunion and it is time to start getting ready and excited. As time gets closer we are starting to build up steam and will be running full bore before you know it. We have two different places giving us quotes on accommodations for everyone and we promise you would love either of them. Once we have decided on the venue and finalized the rates we will get everyone the information needed to begin making reservations and travel plans. We should have everything nailed down by this upcoming weekend with one final meeting. Grace will be sending out emails to the clan once we give her all the info she needs.

We are also beginning to check out the various museums and events for group rates that will be going on during this time. The majority of the local events are just now being placed on the community event calendars for next year so we should have a great list to share. Dust off your hiking boots, swim suits, fishing poles, and even your camping gear if you so desire. The Ozarks has a ton of nature to offer and plenty of room for the entire clan.

That was a fast year!!!

Can you believe it? Thanksgiving is just around the corner and so is 2015. Before you know it, it will be reunion time once again and Arkansas will never be the same. It has been awhile since I have been to the ol' blog and noticed everything was pretty much broken. So hopefully I have that fixed and updated.

Mom sent me a Facebook message with a cool shirt design that describes the family in a single phrase so I went online and came up with a possible shirt for the reunion. Let me know what you all think. We have plenty of time to decide so don't get in a tizzy and order just yet.

We have decided the Embassy Suites will have everything we need for the reunion. We will go in this next year and get everything set up for that and let you know how to get your reservation with the group rate.

Happy New Year Y'all

We hope everyone has had a happy and safe New Year. 2013 has been good to us.

On to business. It looks like we are going to get back as many responses as we are going to on the last survey. It appears we have a tie for the date of the next reunion. It is going to be either June 24-26 or July 1-4. Of course those dates depend on availability of hotels during those times. Being where we are, you never know what Walmart or Tyson have going on. The Bentonville/Rogers area will probably be the best location due to proximity of the airport and area attractions.

We hope 2014 proves to be a great year for everyone.

December Update

Howdy Y'all,

We have been checking out some of the local resorts, and I use that term loosely, in the Beaver Lake area. We feel as of now that idea is out. We have however received information for Big Cedar Lodge in Branson. Granted it isn't in Arkansas but it is a very nice option. If the family prefers we will stay here in North West Arkansas. There are many very nice hotels in the Bentonville/Rogers area that can accommodate our group very nicely such as the Hilton, Hampton, Embassy, and Hyatt to name a few. This year has gone by very quickly so it is time to get things rolling. We will post some dates to a poll soon and get that nailed down. Some places have already stated they are booked into 2015.
